As others said cut back on Spicy, acid and fried greasy food. and juice and soda can cause heartburn.

**** Here is another way to help with controlling your heart burn. DAIRY!!! Milk, yogurt, can help calm the acid down.

*** Also when you lay down lay on your left side it raises your esophagus and helps keep the acid down as well.
References :
constantly get heart burn these things sometimes helps

I swear by the Gaviscon foaming tablets! =) Tums make me retch and gag so I discovered Gaviscon out of pure desperation!

As for food that cause less heartburn changes all the time. I used to eat Oatmeal to Go bars and those gave me wicked heartburn, but now they don't. In fact my heartburn seemed to be worse 18-26 weeks..weird! I only get heartburn now if I overeat..like I did on sushi and tempura last week. UGH! I paid for that for two days of heartburn..LOL I feel fine again and am back to eating a regular size meal.

With my daughter I had it really bad..and she had TONS of hair, my son caused about half the heartburn and had half the hair my daughter did..LOL I can't wait to see what this one has! =)

I drank GALLONS of skim milk with my daughter..I would drink it in the middle of the night too!
References :
I tried everything and the ONLY thing that got rid of my heartburn was giving birth. I had it bad with both my boys constantly, even during labor. Literally, as soon as the baby slid out I could feel it fade away.
References :
Sometimes it does not matter what you eat. My mom in law had terrible heart burn and all she could eat were saltine crackers. It could be just another phase in your pregnancy.
References :
The rules say that spicy and acidic (ex: citrus fruit) foods cause it. However, my experience has been that there aren’t any rules when it comes to pregnancy heartburn. I can eat a fairly plain cereal for breakfast and get heartburn, but then eat an orange later and not. On another day, neither of those foods bothers me and then next they might both.

You should experiment and figure out what foods cause heartburn for you personally and then avoid them.
References :
Oh my gosh I had heartburn so bad with my son, in my last trimester I would wake up in the middle of the night and throw up nightly because of it. Good news is that it went away the second I gave birth. Also, he was bald so I don't believe the hair thing.

I couldn't even drink water without getting heartburn. Or eat any veggies, including lettuce. It was horrible. My dr put me on a prescription but even that didn't help.

I wish I knew an answer for you! :( Sorry.
References :
Omg! I feel your pain. I'm 29 weeks and my esophagus is ripped apart by heart burn I find that if I drink Milk with my dinner or whatever I eat that it isn't AS bad. It coats your throat and makes it feel better.
with my 1st pregnancy I went thru so many tums...tum AND milk might help you out.
Take it from the girl who is craving buffalo pizza day and night!! lol
