My Weight-Loss Journey episode 8 – PHOTOS!

My basic soup recipe:

1 onion
1 large stick celery
6 large carrots
1 vegetable stock cube
Water or milk (milk makes a creamy soup if you like that)
Olive oil
1 bay leaf

Chop the onion and celery and saute lightly in some olive oil until slightly softened in a large pan. Then slice the carrots and add them to the pan along with the stock cube and bay leaf. Stir until the veggies are coated in the stock cube (if you don’t like using stock cubes just add seasoning plus some herbs/spices, ground coriander and ginger go well with carrots). Pour in enough water or milk to cover the carrots and simmer gently until they are soft. Remove bay leaf and blend. Don’t worry if the milk looks like it has split, it will be fine when blended and tastes delicious!
*You can add different veggies to this basic recipe such as courgettes, broccoli, celeriac, potato, leek etc…just experiment!*

A very quick and easy slow cooker (crock pot) recipe:

1 chicken breast per person
1 can 99% fat free condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 tub of fresh salsa or 1 can cherry tomatoes
1 small tub reduced fat soured cream
1/2 sachet of Taco seasoning

Basically mix together all of the ingredients apart from the chicken in the bottom of the crock pot (slow cooker) then bury the chicken breasts in the sauce and cook on high for 3-4 hours (check after 3 hours) until the chicken is cooked through. Or you can cook on low for about 6-7 hours.

You can stir cooked pasta into it just before serving or serve it over boiled rice.
*If you are using more than 4 chicken breasts I would double up on the other ingredients!*

you should have an alarm to go off at a certain time. That way you can eat lunch.

I agree food should …
I agree food should be seen as a necessity and you can make the healthier things taste nice. It is also good to treat yourself once in a while. Many people fail when they try to hard to stick to a “perfect” diet with no pleasure involved. They end up giving in and overindulging in the bad foods. Food should still be exciting and you should never deny yourself a treat once in a while.

, why is she buying thing that taste good and are fillers, veggies and fruits are fillers, u need to make food a nessesity not a pleasure., 3 meals no more. i lost 25 lbs on 2 months. dont worry bout carbs. worry bout sugar. fat and exercise after you eat. WATCH THE LABELs, and and go extreme. i walk 5 miles a day.

I cut out pretty …
I cut out pretty much all carbs – but me being me, I have quite a sweet tooth, so always end up eating. I’ve just decided to change the diet actually. I’m doing slimming world now. Carbs on one day and Protein on the other – no mixing them. A few poeple I know are doing it and have had fab weight losses! I have commitment issues in this area sadly lol. I’ll get there soon though :p You looking great sweetie x

I’m on a diet at the moment but I have cut carbs completely; simply because they don’t work with my body. I retain fat and they make me sluggish and really bad tempered. Without them I am so much better + more energy! I’ve also just joined ‘Curves’ which I love! Keep up the good work hun- your looking fab! xx

Hello Woodie! Its obvious you have never had a weight problem b4? I know you were trying to be honest BUT I really feel that there are ways to put things to people when you are trying to be honest. Saying have a very good looking face is rather an insult to anybody who has had a weight problem. I really do hope you will consider the feelings of others the next time you put such a comment up.
